Products and Applications

Product Description

Titanfloc® is a new titanium-based inorganic polymer, which is designed for water purification and treatment purposes. The titanium coagulant forms polymeric 3D structures, which absorb pollutants from the water and produce an extensive water purification solution. It is a more effective substitution for traditional aluminum, and iron-based coagulants. After careful research and implementation, it has been proven to be a highly efficient water treatment reagent, which is both environmentally friendly, safe and most importantly cost reducing.

Purpose of Use and Application

Titanium coagulant is effective at removing:

  • organic substances
  • suspended solids
  • heavy metals and harmful substances
  • pathogens and microorganisms

It can be synthesized in a number of grades, which makes it for a more powerful and less costly reagent in the removal of arsenic as well as a better solution in the elimination of the residual chlorine ion and in removal of the fluoride ion.

Similar to the traditional coagulants, the titanium coagulant may be utilized in the three major market segments, shown below:

  • Municipal drinking water treatment – where it is used to eliminate water sludge (micro-particles such as clay responsible for water problems) for treatment of wastewater in order to eliminate the phosphorus pollution and to collect the suspended substances.
  • Municipal wastewater treatment
  • Industrial wastewater treatment

Titanium coagulant is up to 6 time more effective at eliminating sludge than a traditional coagulant, which makes it an excellent solution for the treatment of the municipal drinking water.

Moreover, utilizing titanium coagulant can play a vital role in the wastewater treatment in both the municipal and the industrial market segments, as t is highly effective at eliminating pollutants and at collecting other suspended substances.

As of now, there is a large quantity of various titanium coagulant specimens with diverse composition structures, which can be used in different treatment processes. Many tests have been conducted to verify the efficacy of the titanium coagulant. They ranged from river (i.e. the Dnieper, the Dnestr, the Volga, the Seine, the Neva, the Volhov, the Moloca) and lake water purification (i.e. the Ladoga lake; the Sestroretskyi Zaliv reservoir), to removing contaminants from sewage waters from metallurgical facilities and power generation plants.

Product Advantages

Titanium coagulant, enhances the efficiency and the capacity of the water plants (wastewater, drinkable water, industrial plants). It is a high performance coagulant, which is safe, cost effective and environmentally friendly. Titanium coagulant outperforms its competitors, the traditional coagulants. To list some of its many advantages, titanium coagulant works at temperatures lower than 1oC, it decreases the treatment costs by at least 2 times, and dramatically reduces the sludge volume by at least 2 to 6 times.

Patents

The product and the processes are protected by patents obtained in Canada, in the United States of America and in the Russian Federation.

Titanfloc® technology is currently used under license by two LUKOIL subsidiaries PROMINVEST and YNTK, operating in the Russian Federation, drinking and wastewater treatment plants.

When Comparing with Alum, titanium coagulant is better at removal of

  • organic matter (15–70 % better depending on incoming water);
  • pathogenic bacteria (20 times better than alum);
  • chlororganic substances by-product of pre-chlorination;
  • heavy metals;
  • heavy metals complete removal of phyto- and zooplankton;

In addition, it works in cold water works in cold water, while traditional coagulants cannot.
